One of the UK’s leading manufacturer of pressed metal products are currently looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and capable machine operator for a permanent position (after successful trial period) within their production department based near Smethwick in the West Midlands.
Duties will include:
• Working in a clean environment as part of a team
• Learning how to set-up and operate a range of automated machinery including power presses, brake and punch presses etc.
• Working with various materials (mild steel, titanium, stainless etc.);
• Reading engineering drawings
• Visually checking finished products for quality, according to company processes and customer requirements
• Upon completion of training, effectively running multiple machines simultaneously to produce a range of products
• Completing associated paperwork as required
• Liaising with Management to update progress of products being manufactured
• Communicating with other departments where required
Experience required:
• Previous experience of working with CNC controlled metal-working machinery or presses
• Familiarity and confidence with working with machinery
• Ability to multi-task and organise own workload effectively
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
