The company based in Sutton Coldfield is currently looking to employ multi skilled maintenance technician. This is an exciting opportunity to join manufacturing company, which is looking for an engineer with electrical and mechanical maintenance skills and experience of working in a large plant environment. There will be progression opportunities.
Duties will include:
Carrying out fault finding, inspection and rectification works to plant and equipment;
Assembling, installation and altering of mechanical systems and guarding throughout the site
Maintenance of electrical wiring, equipment, ancillary equipment, apparatus and fixtures;
Planning and carrying out of small to large projects;
Installation and maintenance of three phase and single phase control gear for motors, pumps, conveyor systems and fans etc.;
Understand star-delta, slip ring, induction motors (it would be beneficial if the person has knowledge of old switchgear equipment, starters etc.);
Carrying out portable appliance testing (PAT) if required;
Repairing or replacing wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
Undertaking minor building works and facility maintenance;
Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem;
Monitoring, adjusting and identifying faults as required;
Supporting and helping the development of a dedicated production team and other related departments.
The ideal candidate will require:
Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing operation
Mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance experience
ONC / HND or equivalent qualification or Apprenticeship in a related discipline
The ability to work individually or as part of a dedicated maintenance team
Knowledge of working from drawings and technical diagrams / schematics
Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal
