Quality Engineer x2

Location: West Midlands

Salary: £30.00 - £35.00 per hour

A busy Quality Management company with sites throughout the UK, are currently looking for Quality Engineers with experience in the automotive manufacturing sector.

Duties will include:

• Working closely with client management and production teams to identify quality issues within the manufacturing or processing stages following customer complaints
• Ensure Customer complaints and issues are actioned through implementation of problem solving tools
Liaising with suppliers to ensure maintenance of supplier quality development
• Assisting the Quality Manager in mentoring production teams on all quality matters
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with ISO TS:16949 standards
• Keep management fully and regularly informed of customer performance, requirements and expectations
• Supporting new product launches / transfers for customer various product lines
• Facilitate a timely response to open customer issues, ensuring internal documentation is produced and maintained
• Track internal data relative to scrap and all other quality related issues
• Identify areas of risk and champion improvements
• Ensure product / process audits are performed regularly and any non-compliance is addressed
• Prepare and present pertinent data to management via weekly quality reports/reviews
• Work with other Engineers closely to resolve supplier related issues affecting production or customer quality
• Supporting ISO/TS quality systems
• Project a professional image of the company to customers and visitors
• Use escalation procedures for any issues / concerns e.g. Quality / downtime

Experience of the following will be required:

• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949:2002 standards
• Previous experience of working as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing (ideally Automotive) environment
• Working Knowledge of Quality Systems methodology, tools and procedures with particular references to APQP, SPC, FMEA’s, MSA and PPAP’s
• Experience in the development, implementation and auditing of quality systems and procedures
• Previous experience in dealing with customers in a pressurised environment
• Highly organised with time management
• Strong ability to communicate and liaise professionally with external and internal customers from initial contact through to resolution stages
• Ability to present to individuals and a group effectively
• Ability to work under pressure with a flexible approach
• Be self-motivated and results orientated
